It's beyond looks. Even if you don't throw it out, it's going to come back on you. Frankly - now this is just my perception, worth a plug nickle at best so take it with a grain of salt - this novel reads like two incomplete stories, or rather two story ideas that should have been written as two novels. Then too, there's Uncle Finn, whose house Augie's family resides in.

Is the city a place for children on their own? We're spiritual too. Along the way, there are plentiful positive messages about friendship, loyalty, love, family, courage, teamwork, and self-sacrifice.
